Trip to Galle

This morning was a scheduled trip to the southern part of Sri Lanka to spend a day resting and relaxing at The Fortress Spa and Hotel. Prior to the 2 hour drive to Galle, the opportunity was taken to do some shopping in Colombo.  The country is not only known for tea and cinnamon, but for its fabric. So, our driver took us to a few shops so we could explore what the shopping district had to offer.

After a quick shopping trip, it was time to drive 2 hours south near the city of Galle to check into the Fortress Hotel.  This amazing hotel sits along the shore of the Indian Ocean with a gorgeous and inviting infinity pool. The service is impeccable and the perfect break in what has been an amazing journey so far. Unfortunately, the weather has not cooperated, bring in clouds and rain; however, that made time to have a one hour reflexology treatment on the feet (awesome) and a chance to truly chill out and sit under a canopy to watch and listen to the waves of the ocean. Priceless.
